I have a clock/barometer which needs servicing/restoring
Can you service/repair/restore it?
Yes. We have the expertise and ability necessary to work successfully with all types of clocks and barometers. See the servicing section of the website for further details.
Our servicing procedure is very thorough and covers every part of the movement. See the servicing section of the website for further details.
How often should my clock be serviced?
If your clock is running reliably there is no need to have it serviced. It needs servicing only when it becomes unreliable or erratic. See the servicing section of the website for further details.
Will you be able to get the parts?
As we have the expertise and ability to be able to produce clock movements from scratch, making or repairing a part for a clock presents no problems.
Because each clock and its condition are unique, it is impossible to quote a standard time. However, we always try to give you an approximate idea of how long it will take. See the servicing section of the website for further details.

Do you have the right expertise/experience?
Chris Bessent, the Clockmaker, has been working with clocks since the late 1970s and is a member of the British Horological Institute. Please see the Home page of the website for further details of his career and experience to date.
What makes your servicing special/thorough?
We will never just repair to a movement (e.g. replace a broken spring). As the movement
has to be dismantled to gain access it makes sense to check for and remove any wear
at the same time. This is also the only basis on which we can give a three-

All sales carry a three-
We would expect to deliver larger items such as a longcase clock and there is no additional charge within a reasonable distance of Hungerford. This would also include setting up the clock once it is in its new location. Smaller items are normally collected by customers in person however we can sometimes deliver these by agreement.
Do you offer help with setting up my clock once I get it home?
If we have agreed to deliver your clock then this includes setting it up for you. For clocks which are collected we provide the necessary guidance so that you can set it up. If there are problems in setting up, these can usually be resolved by telephone. If this is not successful we will provide additional support.

Yes. However, our needs will be determined by our current stock levels and so we cannot guarantee that we will be able to buy any particular example.
Of course. Please see the Contact Us section of the website for details of how to get in touch.
How will I know you are offering me a fair price?
